With the temperatures continuously dropping, adding layers to my outfits have been key. Scarves, long sleeve tees, and open cardigans are especially effective.

I shot these pics downtown after finding a vintage sequin tank (which will be worn as much as possible) at one of my favorite designer consignment shops. What would the world be without consignment shops, I asked myself this morning. The answer: Expensive.

What I’ve been waiting for this entire school year has finally come: A four day weekend. I’ve spent the weekend shopping, cheering, and spending time with my lovely houseguest & friend.

I’ve been looking for an opportunity to wear this sweater, and yesterday when we decided to go out, the opportunity arrived. It is so loose and comfortable- perfect for a typical fall day.

Love, Love, Love

Fall 1

Fall 2

Fall 3

Fall 4

My favorite looks for this time of year are scarves (they’re warm AND fashionable- it’s a win-win!), knee-high boots, mixing neutrals, and (faux) fur. Layering your outfits is extremely important when the temps are low in the morning and high in the afternoon. Living in the midwest, I think I’ve mastered the layering skills pretty well. Fall brings the excitement of the holidays and the hope of a new year (or at least for me it does), and that’s one of the reasons I love it so much. It’s the last time to accomplish everything on your “2013 Bucketlist,” and it’s the time to try new things.

Hearts on Hearts on Hearts

The weather was perfect for a little farmers market strolling this morning. The end of summer is gone, and the beginning of fall is here.

I love, love, love anything that has a heart on it, so I knew once I saw this piece that I had to get it- I have a big heart for hearts. Once I got this baby in my hands, my heart was captured. The fit is perfect and the colors and shape of the heart are spot-on. I’ll spare you from more puns, but hey, I think they’re pretty punny.

It’s FRIDAY! Tonight I’ll be road-tripping it up to Ottumwa for some freshman football, and then the weekend will be mine. It’s been a long week of testing, so the weekend couldn’t have come soon enough (although the weather was absolutely gorgeous all week!). Here are some of the projects I’ve been working on that will be covered in full detail later. Happy Friday!
