Navy + Yellow

Navy + Yellow

Yellow and navy has to be one of my favorite color combos. It looks especially great with a pop of bright white or camel. The high contrast just makes the two colors look amazing when paired together. Any of these things are phenomenal, and I wish they could all jump into my closet!

DIY: Colorful Pins

While some DIY (Do it Yourself) projects take a long time, I found that this was extremely easy and time efficient. I completed this little project in under five minutes! I love that I can take a pin that I never wore and turn it into something that I can see myself wearing. Here is how I transformed my plain pin into a colorful masterpiece:

1. Find a pin that you would like to paint.

2. Gather all of the colors that you would like to paint on with nail polish.

3. Begin applying colors to your pin.

4. When you are finished painting, let it sit and dry for a few minutes.

5. You are finished! Now all you have to do is find an outfit that you will pair it with and admire your work!

Beauty Favorites

// Nars ‘Orgasm’ blush // Sephora brush // Viva la Juicy roller ball // Sugar Rose lip treatment // Sephora seamless hair ties //

These are a few of the beauty essentials that I have been using lately. While I could go on and on about each one for hours, I am going to write a summarizing sentence about each item.

Nars Blush: This blush has the perfect ratio of color to sparkle.

Sephora Blush Brush: The angle of the bristles makes applying makeup surprisingly easy.

Viva la Juicy Roller Ball: There is not much to say except for the fact that it smells amazing and the roller ball form is easy to transport.

Sugar Rose Lip Treatment: This SPF lip treatment helps to un-chap your lips while giving you the perfect tint of rosy color.

Sephora Seamless Hair Ties: These fun printed hair bands help keep your locks in a high (or low) pony while making sure not to leave a kink in your hair.

Pretty in Pink

Dress: JCrew, Shoes: Banana Republic, Sunnies: House of Harlow, Watch: Charming Charlie’s, Ring: Vintage, Necklace: Tiffany’s & Co.

For a bright sunny day, I decided to throw on a bright outfit of my own. The shirt dress is a classic, but the neon color makes it modern. To make sure that the dress had center stage, I added nude shoes. I would highly recommend getting a pair of neutral colored shoes. They can work with anything- bright outfits such as this, an all neutral outfit, or anything in-between. Then, adding bold accessories such as a chunky, gold watch, a gold, sparkly cocktail ring, and a sweet, silver necklace make the dress pop that much more.

When I went shopping to get this dress it stuck out to me in the store. But I still wasn’t sure if it was for me or not. Even when I tried it on, I was still unsure. Then all of a sudden, I just knew that it would have a new home in my closet. One of my helpful rules when shopping is: If you keep coming back to it again and again, just get it. Go with your gut. You can always return it or send it back. I mean, why not? You only live once!

As of Late

Summer is full gear now, and I am nothing but excited for the upcoming holiday. Even though it is just over a week away, I am always excited for the Fourth. It is a great time to dress in red, white, blue, to kick back and relax, to watch the beautiful firework show, or to lounge around by a lake! Have a great weekend!
